Why now
There is only one first season
Bellamore 1623 spent four centuries as a private estate in the hills of Valpolicella. It opens to guests this year, and this autumn is the first season it has ever had. Introductory pricing holds for our Inaugural Guests, and the number of them is small — the villa has a set number of suites, and we take one group at a time.

Four centuries of quiet elegance
Frescoed halls, a monumental staircase, Murano chandeliers, Italian gardens and a loggia that looks onto the court of honour. Around it, only vineyards — the ones that make Amarone and Valpolicella.

Dinners cooked in the house
Our chef cooks in the villa: long tables, local produce, wines chosen for the evening. The dining room is yours, and so is the pace.

The arena, the food markets, the streets that most tours pass through in an afternoon. With a guide who lives there, and no queue.
Venice, and the Dolomites
Venice within reach for the day, the mountains the other way. Cars, drivers and tickets arranged; you decide the morning before, if you like.
Every week
A black tie Venetian masquerade ball
Once a week, the halls are set for a masked ball: exquisite dining, live music, dancing by candlelight. Formal attire, real Venetian masks. It is part of an Inaugural Guest stay, not an extra — and it is the one thing here that nobody else can offer you.

Northern Italy is well served from the United States. Most of our American guests fly into Milan or Venice and are at the gate of the villa in under two hours.

We arrange the transfer from whichever airport you land at. You will not need to drive here, or hire a car, unless you want one.
September to December
The season the Italians keep for themselves
Harvest runs through September and October: the cellars are working, the hills turn, and the light is long and low. Days are warm, evenings need a jacket, and the crowds that fill Verona and Venice in July are gone. It is, by some distance, the best time of year to be here.

What people ask us first
What does a stay cost?
It depends on the dates, how many of you there are and what you'd like arranged, so we quote rather than list. Introductory first-season pricing applies to Inaugural Guests. Tell us your dates and party size and you will have a written proposal, with everything itemised, within one business day.
Is the whole villa ours?
Yes. We host one group at a time — the house, the courtyard and the gardens are not shared with other parties while you are here.
How many can stay?
From a couple to a group of friends or family taking the whole house. Tell us your number in the form and we will confirm exactly what the villa can hold on your dates.
Do we need to speak Italian, or drive?
Neither. We speak English, and transfers, drivers and guides are arranged for you. A car is available if you want the freedom, but nothing in the week depends on it.
What is actually included?
That is what the proposal sets out. Typically: the suites, breakfast, the chef dinners you choose, the tastings and guided days you want, transfers, and the masquerade ball. You approve it before anything is booked.
Where exactly is the villa?
San Pietro in Cariano, in the Valpolicella hills north-west of Verona. Twenty minutes from the city, half an hour from Lake Garda, an hour and a half from Venice.
What is a discovery call?
Half an hour on the phone or on video with the person who will plan your stay — no script and no pressure. Most guests find it faster than email for working out whether the villa is right for them.
